Rachel Koski-Nielsen started tanning furs in 2010, using natural minerals, handmade soap, & oils. She has honed her craft over many years, and now operates a micro tannery on her small farm in Pine County, MN, where she fat-&-smoke tans hides for farmers, hunters, and retail sale.
OUR SERVICES
Natural, nontoxic hide tanning to recapture value in farm products, honor the animal by using it all, and offer the oldest textile for you to use & enjoy.

Small to large: $100
X large sheep: $125
Add fleshing: $20
Deerskins
Hair-on: $150
Add fleshing: $25
Rabbit Furs
$20 with a minimum order of 10 hides
Add fleshing: $2
Cattle Hides Tanned as Flat Rugs*
Well Fleshed hides: $250
Unfleshed hides: $500
*I can only tan cattle hides that are about 9.5ft by 9.5ft or smaller at this time. A larger hide would have to be trimmed down.

River Critters $95 plus $25 for fleshing
Small game (raccoon, grey squirrel, etc.): TBD
Upcharge to tan any skin from an animal caught in a trap intended to cause drowning: $5000
**All furs require a tag at time of transfer. I reserve the right to refuse to tan your legally taken fur hides for any reason.
I am not custom tanning moose, bison, elk, alligator, or fox at this time.
